People's Park Marriage Market

Every Saturday and Sunday, the north section of People's Park transforms into the Marriage Market (相亲角) — one of Shanghai's most unique spectacles. Hundreds of parents lay out hand-written or printed profiles of their unmarried adult children on umbrellas, spreadsheets, and notice boards, hoping to find a match. It is entirely open to visitors and offers a fascinating window into Chinese family culture.
